Pools and Playgrounds Reopening

Dear Highland Shores Residents, On behalf of the Board of Directors and on-site staff at Highland Shores, we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as our facilities have been closed. Following the lifting of Governor Abbott’s Executive Order, the Board is happy to announce the opening of the pools, playgrounds, and other facilities. Highland Shores playgrounds will reopen on May 21, 2020. Please do your best to observe the social/physical distancing requirements. The playground areas are not cleaned or sanitized regularly. Use of the playgrounds is at your own risk. As such, our community pools will open for daily operations on May 30, 2020. In accordance with Governor Abbott’s Executive Order, usage will be limited to 25% of the maximum pool capacity. The Pool Monitors’ primary responsibility is to keep count of people coming in and out of the pool area. If maximum capacity is reached, no one else will be allowed to enter until someone leaves. A roving Pool Monitor will be scheduled each shift to perform other duties required. With the reopening, we want to ensure that our residents and guests remain safe; therefore, pool furniture has been placed to accommodate social distancing. Please do not move the furniture around. You will be responsible for disinfecting any furniture you use. We have installed specific COVID-19 signage at each pool. From May 30 through June 20, you will be able to enter the pools by showing a valid I.D. (driver’s license, other valid ID, or your latest water bill) with your property’s address on it. You will be required to sign in and read the special COVID-19 waiver, which is at the top of each sign in sheet. After June 20, you will need pool tags to enter any of the pools. To view pool season operating hours, visit www.highlandshores.net/pools. Due to the limited capacity allowed at each pool, we request you refrain from bringing guests at this time and refrain from having any parties so that all residents can enjoy usage of the pools. Pool tags will be available for pick up at the office beginning June 1, Monday through Friday by appointment only. To control the high volume of traffic at the office, we would prefer you arrange to have your pool tags delivered to the pool of your choice: Pool 1 (Community Center Drive); Pool 2 (Highland Shores Blvd. at Hillside Drive); Pool 3 (Northwood Drive). Simply send an e-mail to shoreline@highlandshores.net with your name, property address, number of people in your household age 13 and older, and the pool you would like your tags delivered to. Once received, your tags will be delivered to the pool of your choice within 48 hours. During these unprecedented times, we appreciate your continued cooperation and patience with our staff and volunteers who are working diligently to keep our community safe. As you are aware, the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to others by infected persons who have few or no symptoms. Even if an infected person is only mildly ill, the people they spread it to may become seriously ill or even die. Because of the hidden nature of this threat, we all need to follow the safety practices to keep our community safe as we reopen Texas. Sincerely, Tammy Hatter, AMS, CMCA, PCAM Community Manager
