Build-A-Scarecrow

We are excited to host Scarecrow Row to benefit Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas. Everyone is invited to participate for bragging rights in creating a one-of-a-kind scarecrow to be displayed on Scarecrow Row located on the one-way paved road next to the Community Center. We will provide straw to stuff your scarecrow.

Eligibility: The competition is open to all Highland Shores residents.

Registration: Complete the form below to register to build a scarecrow. The deadline to register is Friday, October 22. https://forms.gle/sHPmiZuy7KM9rKGF6

Display Requirements: Scarecrows should be built to withstand the elements (wind, rain, sun). All scarecrows must be family-friendly in nature. Entries may not be political in nature or contain any gore. Highland Shores Owners Association reserves the right to remove any scarecrow or scarecrow elements that do not meet these standards. Highland Shores Owners Association is not responsible for anything damaged, lost, or stolen.

Set-Up: Scarecrow set-up is open Monday, October 25 through Friday, October 29.

Voting: Everyone is invited to vote. Voting will take place Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31. Although there is no entry fee, it costs $3 per vote. All votes will raise money for Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas. Winners will be announced Monday, November 1.

Pick-Up: Scarecrows must be picked up by Tuesday, November 2 at 5:00 PM, or it may be discarded.

We encourage you to visit your scarecrow for “check-ups” throughout the weekend of the event.
